Help create Tampa Bay's first pop-up fashion store
Divas, some local designers need your help!
Nancy Vaughn at the White Book Agency, coordinator of Fashion Week Tampa Bay, brings word of a cool new project -- a pop-up retail store. You've heard of pop-up restaurants, right? They appear in one location for a very brief period of time, then move on to a new place. Well, the concept is the same. If they're able to raise enough money, Tampa Bay designers including Ivanka Ska, Essence Flowers, Kimberly Hendrix, Dali Hernandez and Dolly Donshey will open PURE (Pop Up Retail Experience) Haus.
PURE Haus will showcase garments at a storefront location for 30 days in September. Everything from couture dresses to swimsuits will be available. This is cool, because these are the items you see, for example, on the runway at Fashion Week. You think, "That'd be cool to have." But since you don't know where to get it, you walk out and head back to the mall in the morning.
I, for one, was obsessed with Kimberly Hendrix's super-sparkly capes at last year's Fashion Week, and would have loved to walk into a local shop and pick one up. This would solve my immediate tinfoil-pecking pigeon problem.
They need $18,000 to make the pop-up shop happen. Seems like a massive amount of money, and so far, they only have $210. But Nancy thinks if 700 people donate $25, they'll make it.
