H&M opening new stores in St. Petersburg, Tampa
Is it warm in here?
Must be the HOT news I have to share with you. You may have missed it, but our colleague Mark Albright this week broke the news that H&M, which made its splash in the Tampa Bay area just a few months ago, is expanding already.
The low-price yet fashionable store, and rival of the similar Forever 21, is bringing a store to Tyrone Square Mall in St. Petersburg AND to WestShore Plaza in Tampa.
Can I get an Amen? Both new locations are slated to open this fall.
Plus, in case you haven't heard, H&M (like Target and JCPenney and Sears and just about every other major retailer these days) has long boosted its brand by having celebrities and designers lend their names to custom collections.
The latest to jump in is star athlete David Beckham, husband to the posh Victoria, father of four and a seemingly all around nice guy. (Hey, I'm trying to be objective here).
The collection (which debuts today) is called David Beckham Bodywear, which fits right in with his persona as a serious piece of eye candy. I mean, look at those ... tattoos ;-)
But really, once you get done watching the alluring commercial, you'll find a whole line of basics that would look good in any guy's wardrobe.
I don't shop for my boyfriend except for gifts/special occasions, so I can't speak with authority on some of the prices, but they don't seem all that bad. The boxer shorts you see in the first pic up top go for $14.95; the PJ pants next to it are $29.95.

This henley shirt is $29.95; the basic white T is $14.95.
What do you think? Excuse me while I go fan myself.

Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
