Holy designer-jeans-on-sale alert!
Snob appeal has landed at the discount racks. This weekend, I spotted 7 for all Mankind jeans at Stein Mart stores in Carrollwood and South Tampa.
The bubble on high-end denim must be deflating with the everything else. Once upon a time, women who wanted these jeans had to fork over $170-plus. Now Stein Mart is selling them for $99.99. It's not exactly bargain basement, but about as good as I've seen it get for higher end jeans.
Is it worth the splurge? That's between you, your pocketbook and your butt. But if you're a Diva that wears jeans at least twice a week, consider how much bang you will get for a pair that hugs tight in all the right places.
Even if jeans aren't your thing, it still may be worth a visit to Stein Mart to check out the pickings. The stores I visited had so much Michael Kors out, I worry he's not selling anything at department stores these days.

P.S. Shoppers, do your homework and beware of fakes. Don't confuse 7 for All Mankind with the sound-a-like "Sevens" brand, which pops up at Stein Mart, Marshalls and other discount stores. If you like the fit, buy it. But don't think you're getting a deal on the real thing.
(Photo: This pair of 7 for All Mankind jeans retails for $169. Stein Mart may not have that exact style, but it has jeans by the pricey label on sale. Selection will vary by store.)

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
