On the hunt for non-dorky sneakers
So, I got a dog. Her name is Peggy and she is perfect in every way. See her cameo in My Outfit Monday this week? She's sporting fur this season. (Har, har).
As a result, I've been doing a lot of walking. And my normal running shoes are getting worn out wayyy too quickly. My girl Peggy doesn't like to scrimp on her workouts, ya'll.
I decided I need some new sneaks -- something casual. Less hardcore than I'd wear to the gym, but not dorky. Shoes I can wear out walking the hood with the Pegster, but also perhaps out running errands without looking like I drive a minivan.
I figured I'd start at Zappos, hoping by now they've got all their security kinks worked out.
Seriously, these are awesome. Leopard-print slip-on keds. Only $40.
These were in the "Athleisure" section. Sounds like what I'm looking for. Gotta love that bright pink. $55.
Did somebody say "BLING?" I don't know if I could pull these off, but darn it, I want to try. They're like an ode to Tiffany's on your feet. A little pricey, at $85, but probably worth it for the double-takes I'll get.
Thoughts?

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
