I want this coat. Is that bad?
A few weeks ago I was flipping through a magazine when I came across a photo of CNN reporter Soledad O'Brien in a leopard-print trench coat. She looked smokin' hot.
O'Brien's coat was $840 from the Carmen Marc Valvo Collection, but the magazine suggested a less expensive alternative: this $79.50 Joan Rivers trench from QVC, which comes in natural or pink. I had to have the natural one.
Or did I? A leopard-print headband is fine. Leopard shoes? Okay. But an entire coat covered in faux animal spots? This calls for a pro/con list.
PROS: It's Diva-licious. It goes with everything. And the belt gives it shape.
CONS: That publication I was flipping through? It was O, The Oprah Magazine. Oprah Winfrey's great, but at 28 years her junior, I'm not sure I should be taking fashion advice from her. Also, the Joan Rivers part bothers me. And the QVC part.
Still, I can't get this coat out of my mind. It's machine washable and lightweight -- perfect for Florida's mild winters. Divas, how much animal print is too much? In other words, is this coat classy or trashy?
