It's Raquel Welch Wig Tuesday!
Deals that come to you are super great. Which is why I subscribe to Groupon, LivingSocial and a number of other online deal sharing sites. Mostly, I use them for local restaurant coupons, but I'm always intrigued by their fitness and spa deals. This morning, I was thrilled to get an e-mail from LivingSocial offering $40 with of beauty products for $20 at BeautyChoice.com.
I'd never heard of BeautyChoice.com. On first glance, it looked like an offshoot of Sephora.com or Beauty.com, offering an online catalogue of makeup, curling irons, skincare, perfume, men's products. There are reviews of each item with a little star rating system, which I always appreciate, and the array of blush and shadow color palettes is amazing.
But what really caught my eye is an entire category devoted to Raquel Welch wigs and hair pieces. There's Ra
quel Welch "Whimsy" and Raquel Welch "Salsa," Raquel Welch "Power" and Raquel Welch "Dixie Pixie." You guys, there are 43 Raquel Welch looks offered here! Some of them are really pretty, though the full-on human hair wigs will run you as much as $600.
I'm actually a big fan of wigs, though the one time I wore one to work, it caused such a stir, we practically had to shut down the paper for a day. There's a huge difference between the cheap, itchy and obvious Halloween-style wigs and a quality for-real wig. When it looks real, it can create quite a dramatic new look. So much so that people will wonder if you lost your mind. And you know what, maybe you did.
Here's a pic of the wig that made my boyfriend cry ... and they weren't tears of joy. But whatever, I thought it was cute:

There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
