It's time for the Tampa Junior League's Holiday Gift Market
Mark your calendars: It's time for the Junior League of Tampa's Holiday Gift Market.
I'll confess that I didn't make it last year. But I was berated soundly by women who swear by this event to jump-start their holiday (and personal) shopping.
This year's market will feature 125 specialty merchants selling everything from clothing and jewelry to food, art and children's gifts.
I know it's too hot to think about Thanksgiving, much less Christmas. But if big box stores have decided that it's already time for Black Friday, we may as well throw some support to indie vendors and the Junior League. Proceeds from this event fund their community projects.
And it never hurts to know you're sending a gift that your mother-in-law won't be able to price out at the mall.
The Holiday Gift Market runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Hall. Admission is $5, plus bring a friend to help with the $5 for parking.
