Jean Straps: the debate continues
Back in November we told you about Jean Straps, the detachable stirrups that keep pants in place under your boots. They sounded like a good enough idea -- no more bunching! But last month reader Mary Farrell wrote in to say that Jean Straps are a waste of money.
When the folks at Jean Straps heard this, they offered to send me a pair so I could judge for myself. I've been testing the straps all week, and I hate to say this, but I'm glad the experiment is over.
To be fair, I didn't have the same complaint as Farrell, who said the straps are too loose to provide proper pull. My issue was that the garter clips dug into my ankles. At first I thought the problem could be the black boots I was wearing, so the next day I tried them with my brown boots... and had the same problem. The pain was mild while I sat at my desk, but whenever I got up, I felt like there was a power tool boring a hole into my feet. No matter which boots I tried with Jean Straps, the end was the same: me wrestling them off my pants in the office bathroom.
Sorry, Jean Straps.
If there's a glimmer of hope here, it's that Farrell and I had different issues with the Jean Straps. So it's possible someone else would have NO issues with them. Divas, if you do decide to shell out $9.99 for a pair, note that you should fasten the straps to your jeans before putting on your pants. Trust me on this.
All these winter wardrobe conundrums are stressing me out. Thank God sandal weather should return this weekend.Deal Diva Dalia
