Learning to love a one-piece bathing suit
From the Tampa Bay Times and tbt* today:
I sat on the steps of the shallow end, legs twisted to one side. I scanned all the skinny, tan females, adjusting their tiny triangle bikinis and bottoms held on by string.
My posture was great. My smirk was in place. I felt smug, superior, as if I had unlocked the secret to finally being content near other human beings in a swimming pool.
A one-piece swimsuit.

After you check out the story, get your tush to a store near you to check out some great end-of-season sales on swimsuits, both one and two-piece. It's the best time of year to get a new suit in Florida, because they go on seasonal change-out sales when it's still 600-point-misery degrees for us. But get there now-ish or they'll be sold out soon.
I love this super-sexy Jantzen suit from Dillard's. The top detail reminds me a little of the suit Nancy Botwin wore on Weeds last week while sneaking into her neighbor's pool in Old Sandwich. Anyone? Anyone? Well, anyway, this is on sale for $32.90. Originally $94! Huge markdown!
There's no way any of us would spring for this, even on sale at Everything But Water for $99.99, but this Betsey Johnson Layer Cake swimdress might be the more adorable thing, you know, ever. In history. Sigh.
To abdomen coverage!
