Mad, mad fashion
Last night ended another season Mad Men. (Don, how could you?) Rather than drowning my sorrows like an ad boy until the next begins, I propose some spirit-lifting shopping for the 60's era fashions the show has inspired. These classic pieces will never go out of style.
Cinched-waist dresses: A smartly placed tie or belt flatters every figure, while the skirt hides a multitude of sins. Not a Betty? Embrace the shape, not the prissiness, by opting for a dress with cargo pockets or metallic embellishments.
Pencil skirt: Need I say more? Pair with a cowl-necked blouse or, better still, a silk-tie top.
Camel: A hot color for fall; one of the classiest you can wear. And among the most versatile. Pair with blacks, reds, whites ... you name it.
Which Mad Men character's wardrobe do you covet? And what will you be buying to get through the off-season?
