Mad Men costume designer talks panty lines and fanny packs
Ooooh, here's some Friday afternoon fashion candy.
We've talked a bit about how to dress in the tiny-waisted, cocked eyebrow vein of Mad Men before. Who wouldn't want to? Just get a load of these sexy gods of sex, will you?
Today, the New Yorker posted an interview with Janie Bryant, the show's costume designer who wrote the book The Fashion File: Advice, Tips, and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men.
Among her various thoughts on fashion, Janie says:
"I hate panty lines. I hate fanny packs. I hate people wearing exercise gear and athletic apparel as clothing. When you’re wearing those big clothes, you have no sense of your body. In general, sloppiness is my pet peeve."
Grilled Cheesus, we agree so hard.
