Manhattan comes to Wal-Mart!
In the latest "designer dujour turned discount denizen" news, Norma Kamali has done a clothing line for Wal-Mart.
Kamali's looks have already started rolling out at Wal-Mart stores across the country and are available online at www.walmart.com
If you don't know about Ms. Kamali. Besides having one of the hottest last names on earth, she's also amassed quite a fashion empire with clothing, eye wear, swimwear and home goods.
But, she's probably best known for her "sleeping bag" coat that reigned supreme in the '70s and '80s. Variations of this coat are still pretty popular in certain colder parts of the world.
Kamali's Wal-Mart line is simple and I like it. Everything has that mix and match element to it. Red, black, white, gray and animal print are the main colors used. Metallic accessories complete the line.
Among my favorites are there basic jersey shirt dresses fit for work and evening wear and the bat-wing cardigan (pictured above.) What a nice twist on the regular sweat suit, don't ya think?
And get this, most of Kamali's stuff is under $20! With those prices, most of the collection is almost completely sold out online. Trust me, I checked. So head to your local Wal-Mart store and see what's left!

Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
