Me, Larry King and Sephora
I'll never forget my first Sephora experience. I was 17, on vacay in Las Vegas with my friend, Gina and her family. I was dazzled by everything. Excalibur was Buckingham Palace (1970s Playboy edition). The hotel KRISPY KREME exhilarated me. Inside M&M World, we even met the incomparable LARRY KING, the namesake of my Siamese fighting fish back home (shut up). After chasing a septuagenarian like he was Hanson, I had no hope of ever being cool.
Anyway, after Larry Palooza, we hit Sephora. I had never seen anything so beautiful -- hundreds of makeup items stacked neatly in mod black and white racks, lit by heavenly fluorescent. I bought a Too Faced brand copper eyeshadow for $12. Meanwhile, one of the younger girls let a salesperson convince her that her flawless 14-year-old skin needed $40 dollar foundation. I'll never forget her phone call to mom... "You bought WHAT???" "But, Mom... I NEEDED it!"
Wow. Sorry. If you've made it to the end of this boring story, here's your reward. Today only, get 20 percent off at Sephora.com with this coupon from the Facebook fan page. If you see Larry King, try not to scream too loud -- his ticker is fragile.

Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
