My Outfit Monday: Brainy Sunday in the park
How was your weekend?
I had one day of mindless swimming and snacking and sports watching, followed by some serious brain time on Sunday. Deal Diva Katie and I are in a club in which we read and discuss magazine stories, kind of like a book club but for journalism. This is the kind of thing that would appeal to non-journalists as much as having your eyelashes ripped out by a rabid toucan, but we like it! Our meeting this Sunday was in beautiful Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, my favorite park on the planet. Check us out!
We're reading a 1994 Hunter S. Thompson piece about Richard Nixon. IT'S TOTALLY CANDID, WE SWEAR. I'm wearing flare jeans and leopard wedges from Old Navy. I mixed it with a Forever 21 hand-me-down top from my friend, Amanda, who is moving and asked her friends to come over and take ALL HER THINGS. I gladly obliged. I thought I was doing some artful mixing of prints with the shoes and top, but on further inspection, I think the prints were both too small and actually competed. But hey, we don't know until we try! My necklace was 50 cents, I think, at Second Image thrift store in Pinellas Park.
Katie here is sporting a dress she's had for six years. I say if it ain't broke, don't ever let it go (hoarder alert). We'll be seeing Katie in this dress come 2034. And she'll be working it, still discussing in depth the New York Times magazine piece on the demise of the Bulldog.
What did you all do this weekend?
