My Outfit Monday: Breaking out the boots
October is the best month of the year.
Consider the evidence: Pumpkin spice. Halloween parties. Even Christopher Columbus Day. I don't know anyone who observes this day with particular reverence, but I think we can all appreciate an unexpected bounty of sales.
Also this month, magical forces start to collide that make it cool enough to wear tall boots (read: persistent rain). Said weather magic happened last week. The proof is in this photo, in which I am naturally and comfortably snuggling my favorite newspaper box.
My outfit is simple and inexpensive. The green button-down dress is Merona from Target. I received the boots last year as a Christmas present, though I know they came from a Famous Footwear-like store at a low price.
The big, bold and gold bead necklace is either a hand-me-down from my late great aunt Sissy, who had lovely jewelry taste, or something I found at an antique store.
Oh, I just thought of one more reason why October is best. It's my birthday month. You saw that coming, right?
