My Outfit Monday: Cleaning house
First, let me start by saying the picture you see is kind of misleading.
Yes, this is what I'm wearing today. But from the looks of it, you might think I'm headed some place super-important, right? After all, I am standing by a door.
Alas, I probably won't be leaving the house today. (Did the jeans give me away?)
I don't have to go into the office today. No errands either. Woo hoo, right? Yay me.
It's like that Bruno Mars song, "The Lazy Song." You know, the one you hear once on the radio then stays in your head the whole day.
("Today I don't feel like doing anything/I just wanna lay in my bed/Don't feel like picking up my phone/So leave a message at the tone/'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything")
Well, not exactly.
While I won't be going outside the house, ther's plenty to do inside. Gah, housework.
Anyway, back to what I'm wearing. That's what you care about, right?
I got the jeans (DKNY) from Sunshine Thrift a couple months back for like $3.
The necklace was a Christmas gift. Don't know if you can see it closely, but its a simple charm with five heart-shaped charms.
The maroon top came from Forever 21, but I can't remember how much it cost. I like it because it's stretchy and forgiving and has longer sleeves, which I appreciated after waking up to a slightly chilly house this morning.
Finally, I decided to go low key and slipped on some black flats. (No need for heels today!) They're pretty basic except for a bow detail at the toe. They were around $15 from Ross.

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
