My Outfit Monday: Gold Lion
First, let me apologize for the bad bathroom self-portrait sexting pic. It's too early for professional studio shots at the St. Petersburg Times mothership.
Second, my life is hard. I have to be at work at 7:30ish a.m., well before most workers in modern America, so I don't have the same luxury of pondering clothing pieces and accessories as some people do. I give myself only so much time to get ready in the morning for maximum sleep potential, so my outfit coordinates must be easy and obvious to grab from the closet in the wee pre-dawn hours.
That said, I introduce to you this little number. The dress is INC International Concepts from Macy's and is as comfy as a nightgown. It's leopard print, but in my mind, it doesn't scream "Rraahhrr! Cougar!" because it's a deep olive green color to tone down the leopard-ness. My jacket, ladies and jams, was found crumpled on the floor of JC Penney last fall. Actually, my mother found it during one of our epic mother-daughter shopping excursions. She brought the wrinkled gold wad to me while I was trying on clothes, and I wasn't sure at first, but it is now a staple in my closet, making appearances on black dresses, with jeans, etc. It's super thin and light, so I can wear it in the summer. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be this wrinkled, but it works. And I hate to iron.
The dainty, strappy gold shoes are Ann Taylor and I forgot all about them until recently. They were my favorite shoes years ago until I wore out the heel tips down to the nails, but I gave them a second life by taking them to Holmes Shoe Repair in downtown St. Pete. They sat in a plastic bag in the back of my closet until I moved recently and realized I should probably break them out again.
Happy My Outfit Monday, y'all! Hope everyone is having a great morning standing around, looking at your closets, comparing, contrasting and generally enjoying a life where you can waltz into work whenever you please ... I'm not bitter ... really ...
