My Outfit Monday: The Golden (and Pink) Rule
I know, I know. The headline says My Outfit Monday. But I'm posting this a day ahead because I'll be off work tomorrow enjoying a long weekend with friends.
As such, I thought I'd pay homage to those glorious days known as Saturday and Saturday by dedicating today's post to casual wear.
One of my fave color combos lately is pink and gold.
This was largely inspired by a Thanksgiving trip to my hometown of Detroit. Between the fallen leaves and holiday displays, the city was bursting with color.
This short-sleeve sweater dress, from New York & Company, fit in perfectly. I bought it years ago and was SO glad I salvaged it from the 'discard' pile during a recent closet purge.
To protect against the chilly air, I layered it over a long-sleeved black shirt and leggings. For an extra pop of color, I tied a pinkish-purple floral patterned scarf around my neck (Rue21) and grabbed my trusty old pink handbag (also from New York & Company).
The brown bomber jacket, from Target, is left over from an Amelia Earhart Halloween costume. I'm not usually a fan of Dots clothing, but they have a great shoe selection this fall and these $22 knee boots are so comfy!
I wore this number last weekend to a Black Honkeys concert in downtown St. Pete.
You might recognize the hot pink blazer (Kohl's) from my Deal Diva bio photo as well as from the Deal Divas' Fashion Night Out blog post.
This time I paired it with a ruffly gold cami that's actually part of a twin cardigan set I bought years ago. I threw on some dark-wash skinny jeans, nude heels (about $20 at Target) and a Kenneth Cole purse a friend got me for my birthday. My leaf-shaped pink and gold earrings were also an early Christmas gift from my mom.
So tell me, divas, what are some of your favorite color combos or casual wear looks?
