My Outfit Monday: A little of this, a little of that
I actually forgot that it was my turn for My Outfit Monday until Deal Diva Katie texted for deets on my outfit this morning. By then, it was already too late to go back home and put some extra effort into my look, so you're getting to see, quite literally, the first things I grabbed from my abyss of closet this morning.
I've been traveling nonstop the past few weekends. I went to Ohio to visit my grandparents for their 65th wedding anniversary first (cue: Awwwww). Saturday night, I stayed in Orlando for Halloween Horror Nights. And next weekend, I'm stowing away on my boyfriend's business trip to Vegas (not really, TSA. I have a ticket).
I'm not complaining. It's all been wonderful and I am lucky to have chances to see people and places I love. But my stuff is pretty much scattered among suitcases and overnight bags and purses right now. This morning, I stumbled down the stairs and rummaged through a bag within a bag within a bag until I could find my glasses. My dog was all, "Turn the lights off, jerk."
Anyway, here's my cobbled-together outfit, and a bonus shot of my mushy, lukewarm pasta leftovers crammed inside a plastic lunch meat box, the Tupperware of classy people everywhere.

The blazer is from a clearance rack at Dillard's, cottony and soft like a T-shirt. The blouse is a Forever 21 hand-me-down from my friend, Amanda. The jeans are my Old Navy flares, shortified with skill by Hana's Tailor Made Alterations in Tyrone Mall.
My favorite part of this smorgasbord has to be my boots, from H&M. They're oxblood, or burgundy or whatever you want to call it, with a suede heel. And they're actually really comfortable. They're autumnal and festive, but they go just past the ankle so they're not sweat traps.

If you needed further proof that I left my head in some hotel, here is a very exclusive look at the Piece de Resistance of Sub-Denim Hot Messery. My socks.

And I don't even care.

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
