My Outfit Monday: Oh, baby!

22

August

This weekend, your favorite childless 28-year-old woman (me) was submerged in an ocean of BABIES, BABIES EVERYWHERE! Two baby showers in two days. My reproductive system almost hitched a ride for Vegas.

It was actually delightful. And I spent less on my own clothes than I spent on the babies.

Here I am en route to the first shower on Saturday, an evening affair for couples. I opted for this purple dress, which I got for $12 at Revolve Clothing Exchange in St. Petersburg, one of my favorite places to shop. I paired it with my go-to leopard heels by Max Studio and baubles from Forever 21 (you know I love 'em). Plus, the gift bag, natch.

Check the back of the dress!

I tell ya, since cutting my hair, I've had enough fun with the back of clothes to last a lifetime.

Sunday, I helped organize a large baby shower for some dear friends. Unfortunately, I was a dumb imbecile and only remembered to take my outfit photo after I had been running around hauling ice buckets and trash cans and cake boxes for five hours. This is not my favorite picture in history, but I can't NOT show you, because it is the ultimate deal and we must discuss.

That's right, ladies and germs. True elegant types pose with their pinkies extended against a mahogany wall. Sigh. Anyway, more important matters. I got this dress at Banana Republic at International Plaza last week. I call it the "mullet dress," because it's business in the front and party in the back. I paired it with a yellow Charlotte Russe tank, because it was a little free and easy by itself for a Sunday afternoon, if you know what I mean.

I almost never go into Banana Republic. I just tend to forget about it. But Deal Diva Emily copped a big bag of brand new Banana Republic gear recently, and I was all, "OOOH." So I stopped in. This silk dress was originally $150, from the Banana Republic Monogram line, a limited edition collection. For some reason last week, it was marked down to $23 in the clearance rack. And there was another discount for sale merch on top of that. And it was the only one. And it fit.

Final price? $19.

Of course, I spent three times that on an outfit for the child.
