My Outfit Monday: Pantyrock
Here's something you don't see on here every day: Me playing guitar in my underwear.
I realize I'm pushing my limits here, posting such a scene on a blog owned and operated by a family newspaper. Plus, I know my mom reads this daily and she raised me better than this. However, it's Monday morning and we could all use a little excitement, so it is with great pleasure that I present to you a photo taken on Saturday night.

This is me (center stage) playing at the Emerald Bar in St. Petersburg, part of the Antiwarpt Music Festival, a multi-venue event that wound up being wildly successful, if not beastly hot. The entire block was packed, and inside the tiny Emerald, it felt like a steamy sauna. I originally wore a denim skirt that felt more and more heavy and stiff as showtime got closer.
Fortunately, I had on a pair of Target bloomers screen-printed with my band's name, plus I was wearing fishnet hose underneath, PLUS it WAS a rock show. Anything goes. I felt so much better after removing the skintight, oppressing skirt. A special thank you to my friend Matt Simmons for standing on a chair and snapping this photo with his iPhone, capturing this magical moment forever.
Here's a closeup of the wares, created by my bandmate Melissa with the band name on the front, and in the back, the popular music count intro "1-2-3-4." Enjoy.

Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or

She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
