My Outfit Monday: Stress Blues
It's the first day of our new weekly feature, My Outfit Monday! At the start of each week, one of us will show you what we're wearing, either from that day or from sometime over the weekend. We love looking at other bloggers' outfits for fashion inspiration and thought it was time we jump on board. It's great to see how people mix things, the chances they take, the hits and misses. We're not saying our looks are always perfect, and that's sort of the point. Let's all work on our personal style together! We'll tell you where we got our clothes, whether it's Saks (not likely), Target (likely) or free from a friend (very likely). We'd love to see your outfits, too. Definitely share your own pictures on our Facebook page.
It would figure that on the inaugural day, I woke up a ball of nervous stress. I have sooooo much to do this week. Five stories to write, reporting in strange parts of town, blogs, deadlines. And what's more is, I FORGOT TO DO MY TAXES. I did them first thing today, but man, my nerves are shot.
Also, the dog was being a total pill. Exhibit A:

Stuart was not interested in My Outfit Monday. He was only concerned that I pay attention to him, and NOW.
I finally got him out of the picture (mostly). Bad dog! Bad! Here's the full look.

I needed comfort today, and fortunately my job allows jeans. The jeggings are from Old Navy, and they're comfortable enough to sleep in. I have crashed in them before, sad to say. The shoes are Max Studio, scored at TJ Maxx for more than half-off. The shirt and chain necklace are both from Target (see?). The grandpa cardigan, which has a handkerchief hem, is Pink Rose from Macy's. It's snuggly and paper thin, an acceptable weight for this time of year. The purse (a.k.a., Heavy Spinal Curve Bag of Terror) is from Revolve Clothing Exchange in St. Pete -- $18! And to top it off, I went for a huge, sparkly cocktail ring from Dillard's to remind me that the weekend is just five days away. Sigh.
I think it's a little monochromatic. I could join the Navy with all this blue (ba-dum-cha!). But it was all I could do to get out of the house without putting the dog up for adoption, so there we have it.
What are you wearing today?

Katie Sanders foolishly spurned pretty dresses and shoes as a child, tossing new clothes over her shoulder at birthday parties with a totally rude "no, thank you." Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
