My Outfit Monday: A successful hunt
As the rain clouds rolled into town Saturday morning, my friend and I started having second thoughts. We had woken up extra early, pulled on our most comfortable shoes and planned to hit the road for the Orlando outlets. But now the sky was about to open up. Torrential downpours were expected for the rest of the day. Did we really want to make the trip -- to the mostly outdoor mall?
Yep, we decided. Let's brave it.
Thank goodness we did.
We both left with bags full of new clothes to spruce up our fall wardrobes. One of my favorite finds? This Banana Republic dress.

"Is it too safari, or just safari enough?" I asked my friend in the dressing room.
"Just safari enough," she said.
Done deal.
I love that it's comfortable and casual, but still work-appropriate, especially with a little cardigan over it.
On account of the bronze buttons down the front, I kept my accessories really simple: just my watch and a gold cuff bracelet. And black flats on bottom.
How'd I do?

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
