Neiman Marcus and Target partner for the holidays!
We venture occasionally into Neiman Marcus. Typically, it's to use the bathroom, to look for free martinis at Fashion's Night Out, to fantasize about things we'll buy when our rap careers finally take off. We don't actually purchase anything.
That's not going to change anytime soon (until someone looks at our darn MIXTAPE), but here to help us fake it till we make it is Target. In its infinite wisdom and efforts to bring high style to people who budget for coffee runs, Target is partnering with Neimans, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and a slew of designers including Marchesa, Jason Wu, Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta. The designers have cranked out more than 50 gifts and doo-dads for your highfalutin holiday cart at Target prices (OK, a little higher than Target prices, but these things do get the red stickers eventually).
The collection debuts Saturday in stores and online. I sense a Deal Diva lunchtime field trip coming on next week. Get a preview of all the nifty gifties here. And let's take a look at some of our favorites!
Diane von Furstenberg yoga mat, $49.99. Almost too cute to sweat on. Almost. Also, has anyone ever explored Diane's deep-seated psychological need to create things that wrap? Just saying.
Marchesa girl's dress, $79.99. I was really disappointed when I realized this was in a girls' size. Maybe I can fit if I cut out all food between now and forever.
Chantilly lace top from Lela Rose, $69.99. Perfect for having one too many egg nogs at the company holiday party and singing Journey's greatest hits while perched on the printer.
Delicious leather Brian Atwood gloves, $49.99. Letting you drive and/or serial kill in style. Probably too warm for Florida, but luxurious nonetheless.
Cookie cutters from Band of Outsiders, $29.99. Those glasses are really funny, but wouldn't it just chunk the cookies into two parts? Obviously I need to inspect in person.
Robert Rodriguez ruffle top, $79.99. I desire this greatly. SANTA, ARE YOU LISTENING, SANTA?
Tracey Reese sparkle top, $79.99. SANTA. HEY, SANTA? ARE YOU AWAKE?
Alice + Olivia bike, $499.99. I am in the market for a cute bike, and I am not opposed to creepin' up the block on one covered in flowers, but I don't know if I could do it for that price tag. Do bikes go on clearance, too, Target?
We might be better off waiting until the new year to pick through all this stuff, but a little gift card planning never hurt.
