Not your mother's Lands' End
I was in sixth grade when I last ordered clothing from the Lands' End catalog. It involved matching horizontal stripes on a skirt and shirt, a memory still painful.
Since then, I've figured Lands' End was lost to the school uniform set and people who subscribe to the Ladies' Home Journal. Then this fall, I remembered the versatility of their monogrammed totes and ordered one as a gift for a relative.
That must be how I got on the mailing list for Lands' End Canvas, the company's newly launched line. And, wow. Just wow. I couldn't put it down.
The pictures are beautiful; the clothing timeless. These are classic American pieces like the perfect cargo pant and seersucker jacket. Lands' End has a fresh take on everything from cardis to camp shirts, with crisp lines and vibrant colors.
Still, I'm a little nervous about ordering from a catalog from a size perspective. The prices, while affordable, seem a little high for a non-prestige brand. But I believe Lands' End's promise about offering real quality.
Maybe it's time to grow up, like Lands' End. Sixth grade was a long time ago.
