Oh noes! Zappos hacked

Well, this is bad news for, oh, about 24-million customers:, one of our favorite online shoe retailers, was the recent victim of a shoes.jpgcyberattack, according to

Apparently, hackers got a hold of customers' names, e-mail addresses,  billing and shipping addresses, phone numbers, and the last four digits of credit card numbers and passwords. Fortunately, full credit card numbers and other payment info were stored on a separate server which was not hacked, the company said.

Zappos asked its customers to go into their accounts and reset their passwords. Just don't try calling customer service today. The retailer expects so many phone calls related to the hacking, it said it was turning off its phones and would only answer questions by e-mail.

I actually haven't ordered anything from Zappos in years, so I don't even remember what e-mail and password I used. Here's hoping I don't wind up with a $4,000 credit card bill for stereo equipment I didn't buy.
