O.P.I to release polish line inspired by Muppets movie
I've been flip-flopping around with bare, un-pedicured toenails for awhile now, hoping one of these days I'll have free hour or two to sit still for a nice mani-pedi from the professionals. Until then, I'm pondering colors.
I had a friend years ago who quit her corporate career to be a nail tech and said she could guess with almost 100 percent accuracy which ladies would pick certain colors. Wealthy women, she said, would almost always choose pale pinks and nudes. Younger, pretty girls liked black or dark purple. Women who looked like they were waist-deep in credit card debt and were struggling to stay out of foreclosure liked bright reds and pinks. Or so she said.
Me, I tend to sway between paler colors and bright ones, like turquoise or coral. I tried yellow once and hated it. I did light lavender and loved it.

And now I can't wait for these: Muppet-inspired colors by O.P.I., to be released in November to coincide with Disney's release of The Muppets. They range from the more typical deep reds to sparkly pink ("Excuse Moi") and blue ("Gone Gonzo") and a glittery multi-colored ("Rainbow Connection"). Love O.P.I. so much.
The future line is already getting some love on O.P.I.'s Facebook page, where the announcement of the line has amassed over 2,300 "likes" and 340 excited comments. People love the Muppets! Well-played, O.P.I.

Katie Sanders foolishly spurned pretty dresses and shoes as a child, tossing new clothes over her shoulder at birthday parties with a totally rude "no, thank you." Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
