Oscar Night: Will it be fashion fab, or last year's drab?
The grandest night in celeb fashion comes to a TV screen near you this Sunday. Giddy with anticipation, we wonder if this year's Oscar night glitter with make us gasp in delight or gag on our Girl Scout cookies. (Yep, still eating those.)
Last year's Academy Awards fashion left us wanting. Thank goodness the carpet was red, because the majority of gowns were devoid of color. Hard to find much inspiration in Miley's mermaid scales, Jessica's misplaced fabric swath or Beyonce's '80s-tastic gold lame flowers.
Predictions for this year's big event run the gamut. Some stylists expect dark and moody colors, while others foresee a punchier palette of fuschias, hot pinks and oranges. Statement jewelry and sleeves are in. One-shoulder dresses are on the way out.
A chorus of fashionistas are yearning for more experimentation and fashion-forward looks at the Oscars. (Think Tilda Swinton's drapey oatmeal-on-black frock.)
Of course, then we'd have less to snark about during our LIVE CHAT Sunday night. And what fun would that be?! We'd love for you to come dish with us here about all things red carpet. Meantime, check out Deal Diva Stephanie's Grammy Awards chat for a taste of the ogling ahead.
