Overlooked Oscar dress: Hilary Swank
There was a lot going on during Oscar night, including a live chat, some ham finger sandwiches and stuffed mushrooms, some loud talking, some false speculation that Jamie Lee Curtis is paralyzed, some jokes about mall kiosk ponytails. There was a moment when I tried to turn the sound up but accidentally changed the station to CBS and didn't realize it for about ten minutes when a Survivor commercial came on. There was also some Oscar ballot casting, which I RULED with 16 correct predictions. Between blogging and writing for the paper, I managed to snag myself the grand prize of an oil painting of a tiger that my friends picked up from a thrift store. As Charlie Sheen would say, WINNING.
What I'm saying is, I somehow missed this:
This is Hilary Swank in Gucci, and THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, PEOPLE. It just so happens I have an unhealthy obsession with feathers, especially these wispy ostrich kind. I want them on everything. And the ombre shading? GET OUT OF TOWN. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. WHAT THE FRENCH, TOAST? The color is a touch pale, but it's just silver enough to work. I maybe wish it had a more interesting neckline, but then again, that may have competed with the bottom, so I guess I don't know what I'm saying at all and perhaps should shut up entirely.
Basically, this dress is so wonderful that it renders me unable to think.
