Project organize: My makeup drawer

20

April

cosmeticorganizer.jpegI recently acquired my grandmother's bedroom vanity. With its carved wooden mirror and matching bench, I feel like a princess each time I put on my makeup.

The problem? I can't find anything. The vanity has seven drawers, a huge improvement over my bathroom sink. But my bangles are a tangled mess. I can't find a good place for my clunky hair drier with diffuser. And worst of all is the makeup situation.

Mind you, I don't wear much makeup. But my overpriced tubes of eye moisturizer are forever migrating to the back of some drawer, along with the all-important deodorant. And my fancy wrinkle-preventing sunscreen? By the time I find it, I'm officially late.

Needless to say, I need organization. I dream of a pretty, functional solution that displays my makeup tubes on top of the vanity. But all I am finding are plastic caddies at Target. I'm toying with the idea of converting a small silver serving tray into a cosmetics tray, but I'd love little compartments for brushes and tubes.

Any ideas? I found an attractive wooden organizer online, but don't like the $39.98 price tag. I need ideas! how do you organize your cosmetics!?!
