Recap: Fashion's Night Out 2012 at International Plaza

I think I broke my feet.

That was my first thought after waking up post-Fashion's Night Out, post-traipsing around the mall in uncomfortable shoes for several hours. Kameel, Keyonna and I headed down to International Plaza and Bay Street for the stylish festivities Thursday night along with our high school journalist from tbtwo, Liz Tsourakis. We were instantly greeted by several celebrity impersonators -- Marilyn Monroe, Katy Perry (cupcake bra and all) and Joan Rivers. Joan told us she's actually Cheryl Foster from Orlando, available for all your party needs. Here we are.

I wish the light was better so you could get a full grip on my dress, but the bottom section is purple! It's from LOFT, scored on clearance plus an extra 30 percent off. My shoes (also purple, I swear), were the one positive result from my failed relationship with ShoeDazzle. They have ruffles in the back. Party shoes!

Divas Kameel and Keyonna looked snappy. I love Kameel's vintage flight attendant vibe via neckerchief. Her skirt was from Kohl's and her shirt, of course, was thrifted. I also love Keyonna's pink blazer from Kohl's. Can you tell we enjoy a trip to Kohl's?

These lovely lasses are Jackie Sinclair and Elaine Stulic from Tampa. They're Deal Divas fans! It always makes us feel slightly more legit when people approach us in public in a positive way that doesn't involve expletives or raw eggs. Thanks for being awesome, ladies! They're wearing fierce animal prints from Ross and Dillard's, and they assured me they got them on sale. We would expect no less!

Nicole Mack looked like she could have been strolling the streets of London in her adorable coat, hat and dress, a combination of White House Black Market and Dillard's finds. She works across the street at Westshore Plaza but wanted to hop over and check out the action at IP for FNO (can we use any more acronyms?).

Cute blond alert! These three are au pairs, (nannies) living here in Tampa with different families. On the left is Louise Arundel, 22, from Australia. To her right is Madita Pierenkemper, 19, and Chrissy Newman, 23, from Germany. What do they think of the shopping in the states? "I love it," said Chrissy.

We were thrilled to see Dr. Pamela Schwartz, obgyn of Lakeland's Watson Clinic, holding Florida's Best Newspaper on the red carpet! She rocked a tunic from Talbots, Eileen Fisher pants and Cole Haan shoes. And she brought her favorite accessory, her nurse, Wendy Liparota.

Surprise! It's Amy Mariani, former Timeser, now a journo at Bay News 9. We see Amy EVERYWHERE and by now she's perfected the "I'm obviously gonna be snapped for Deal Divas," pose. Loving the pink jeans with pointy flats. She's here with her friend Jenna Withrow, who we also stalked at the last FNO.

The Tampa Bay Times had a great chocolate bar this year, even bigger than last year's spread. And it held the most stylish element of the night: THESE CUPCAKES.

There were little performances all over the mall, including one from these guitar players at Uno de 50. It was a lovely, harmonious lure to buy, buy jewelry that's feminine with an industrial edge. Buy!

Dillard's hosted a fashion show. Here's the view coming down the escalator, paparazzi style. Our friend and colleague Susan Thurston said we all better start working on our leg toning exercises, because leggings were BACK IN LIKE WHOA.

We saw some folks enjoying a little FNO pedicure action at Lush. Ahh.

Here's where it starts to get painful. I've been to several Neiman Marcus events over the years, and it's ALWAYS tricked out in there. Free drinks, food, live-action models, musicians. So what did we do at FNO this year? WE FORGOT NEIMAN MARCUS. That's right. I saw some friends at dinner after we'd been through the whole mall, and they started talking about all the cool things in Neiman's this year, from the free martinis to the customized little picture flip books folks were handing out for free. My friends hammed in front of a video camera for a few seconds, and out popped an animated flip book of their love, like Party Photo Booth V. 6.0. I am not kidding. This is the stuff of Disney dreams and we just brain lapsed right on by the whole dang store.

Instead? We wandered into neighboring Tory Burch and got distracted by things like these riding boots I can never, ever afford.

My middle name is Failure.

We did, however, stroll through Nordstrom, where we found these mannequins that look like torture devices from one of the Saw films. So. There's that.

Anyway, our gaffe gave us a little more time for outfit stalking, and it's a good thing because we found the best of the night. It was Tanya Omoike, a stay-at-home mom from Wesley Chapel who wore a simply amazing orange dress from Asos, which I think has a distinct Victoria Beckham vibe. Her shoes are Calvin Klein, and they are a treasure, and I'm not just saying that because they're leopard. They were truly great. Her niece, Sashoy Findley, jumped on in. She's a USF French major and her dress came from Charlotte Russe. Cute, cute, cute.

Did you make it to FNO this year? Did you get a free martini and cool flip book at Neiman's? Let us know. No, really. It's fine. We won't cry or anything.
