Runway show aims to foster local fashion, friendship, fun
How would you describe your style?
Be it grown and sexy, hip hop, punk rock or even post-apocalyptic (think vampires or attire you'd need for the end of the world), the organizers of an upcoming fashion show highlighting local artists promise to deliver.
Dubbed “Ambitious Elements of Style,” the runway show will feature 70 female and male models wearing designs by seven Tampa Bay area designers.
More than 160 guests have already RSVP’d via Facebook for the event, to be held 3 to 6 p.m. July 29 at the Embassy Suites-USF, near Busch Gardens in Tampa. The first hour is pegged as a networking social, in which guests will be encouraged to mingle as fashion vendors sell their wares and live music plays.
The show is being put on by SirPass Events. Founder Shemida Joseph says the goal is to bring together the stylists, musicians, photographers and other artists she’s partnered with on other events since last fall, and – by working together – better showcase their talents.
"We just really want to highlight ambitious people,” Joseph said. "We hope to inspire artists."
