Seeing green, saving green

Is it just me, or is EVERYONE wearing green lately? I went to two separate parties this weekend and at both, it seemed the dress code was dominated by shades of emerald, kelly and lime.

And it must be rubbing off on me, too. I just realized that both yesterday and today, I wore green tops -- something I normally NEVER do. I'm probably the only one in the whole office who notices, but I make a concerted effort not to repeat outfit color schemes two days in a row (Please tell me others do this, too. Maybe I just need to get a life.)

Maybe the heat is getting to all of us. Maybe we're subconsciously craving the cool of the greenish sea. Whatevs, let's look at some clothes.

loft.jpegThis darling green button-down is on sale at Loft for $39.99. I'd pair it with some chunky turquoise earrings.

forever21.jpgForever 21 brings us this sweet tribal print frock for under $30. Of course, you may only be able to wear it three times before it falls apart (Sorry XXI), but it's still pretty darn cute.

gap.jpgI'm always in the mood for a nice maxi dress. Gap does not disappoint with this flowy number for $69. Throw a light floral scarf around this baby and you're good to go.

oldnavy.jpgFinally, we have these sweet tie-belted shorts from Old Navy, which I literally am about to purchase. $15.99, ladies and gentlemen. Can't beat it. I'm already picturing myself in a lightweight white button-front shirt, long necklace, strappy sandals and these sweet shorts on an afternoon summer picnic. Okay, all that plus a puddle of sweat. Oh well.

Anybody else notice this trend?
