ShoeDazzle: Are you ready for a shoe of the month club?

HeelsWine, coffee and tea are staples of the goodie-of-the-month clubs, those no-brainer gifts that keep pantries stocked with surprises. But are you ready to take the concept to your closet?

We've told you about the Tie Bar's Tie of the Month Club as a gift idea for your sweetie. Now here's a link to leave open on a laptop as your birthday or the next holiday approaches: ShoeDazzle.com

Last year, Deal Diva Stephanie subscribed to the site, which guides you through an online poll to determine your "style." Then its experts pick out a few fashion-forward options for you each month. You make your pick, and it should arrive at your door, all for $39.95 per month.

Steph had mixed results. The shoes were often too big or too small. And it was a hassle to mail them back, so she found herself out $40 on occasion. She did get one fierce pair of purple booties which she still loves, but she ultimately canceled her subscription.

I took the poll, which was a blast, but I was turned off when the site asked me to turn over my credit card information before seeing which shoes I'd be matched with. (I should have read the FAQs page first.)

I'm not so sure that $40/month is such a bargain for shoes, which I tend to snag for less on the DSW sale racks. But still, the idea of a surprise treat that won't make me fat arriving at my doorstep each month is appealing.

Is this concept a deal, scam or just flat-out stupid? You make the call!
