Six shoes every woman needs, according to Oprah
I just plopped in front of a TV in my office to watch Oprah. I know, I know, it's a hard life. Anyway, it's an accessories bonanza on the show today! Fashion experts are picking apart people on the street for their poor shoe or bag choices, then giving them head-to-toe makeovers (lucky!).
Without further adieu, here are the six pairs of shoes every woman should own, courtesy of today's Oprah Winfrey show and Adam Glassman, creative director of her magazine:
Black pumps: They advise a 2-inch kitten heel. As an official shorty, I like something a little higher, but I smell the point they're stepping in. Basic, functional, go-anywhere.
A comfortable flat: My statuesque colleague Karen, who kindly tuned into Oprah at her desk and watched with me, commented that a comfy flat doesn't look quite so dainty in a size 10. True enough.
A showstopping evening shoe: Something in a classic shape, with a little bit of bling. Can't argue with that.
A cute sneaker: NOT THE ONE YOU WEAR TO THE GYM. Miss Oprah stressed this point. I mostly agree on principle, even though I wore my gym shoes around yesterday. Guilty.
A tall boot: It transitions from work with a dress to evening with jeans or leggings tucked in. If you don't like a heel, there are some great flat riding styles now.
An all-weather boot: We don't need these here in Florida, where the climate stays balmy year-round, but if you're somewhere where it snows, an attractive snow boot is a must.
Did Oprah miss anything?
