Spanx for men? Go ahead and laugh, but it's a hot commodity
Does the thought of a man wearing Spanx make you snicker?
Yeah, me too. But not because I'm being sexist. I just can't help feeling a bit of karmic satisfaction knowing guys are wiggling into shapewear and enduring some of the discomfort women go through in order to look good. Ha!
But manly-man shapewear isn't just late-night talk show fodder these days. According to this New York Times story, the slimming undergarments are flying off store shelves. Some men were brave enough to talk on the record about their purchases. Others, understandably, prefer the anonymity of online shopping.
Ladies, has your guy snooped around the Spanx aisle at Neiman Marcus? Gents, are you willing to smooth your torso with shapewear or would you rather let the flab flop freely?

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
