Splurge or scrimp: a new bag
It was sometime during an ill-fated attempt to sew the strap back onto a faux-leather purse from Target I've literally worn to death that I decided, growling in frustration: I need a new bag!
But not another $20 impulse buy snagged while shopping for laundry detergent and toothbrushes. Not another Forever 21 designer replication that will fall apart. Not even another one of grandma's hand-me-downs.
No, I had a sudden thirst for a real investment piece. Something classic. Something that I can save up for and really splurge on. The deal diva in me is fighting back while visions of soft black leather dance in my head. "Go to the thrift store!" she says. "Keep sewing!" But deep down, I know.
How many PB&J lunches would I have to eat to justify taking this Marc Jacobs bad boy home?
Or, sigh, this from Rebecca Minkoff?
Am I fooling myself, divas? Is an investment bag worth it? Would you make the plunge? HELP!
