Street Beat: Chicago edition, Flower Power
Hey all you Divas, this thrifty fashionista is just back from a whirlwind of a trip to one of my favoritest cities in the whole wide world: Chicago.
If colorful hot dogs, Mafia legends and Oprah aren't enough to make this city a gem, consider this: they have perhaps the biggest, coolest Forever 21 store on the planet?! At 40,000 square feet and three floors, this Michigan Avenue cornerstone is like a mall unto itself.
What's more, it is one of the best places to scope out style mavens. I spotted more than few while there, and honey, you heard it here first: the girls are all about florals this summer. I saw tons of chicas sporting daisies and pansies in colorful splendor. I couldn't help but share. So check these ladies out and be inspired!
Hannah Elaine, 25, a photographer form Nashville.
Flower Power: An apron cut dress with a country medley of flowers.
Her style: "Vintage"
What I like: Hannah has the complete look. The boots, bright bag and funky owl necklace scream country girl gone glam.
Ramsina Youmara, 15, a high school student from Chicago.
Flower Power: Abstract holly buds and petals.
Her style: "Classy"
What I like: This is perhaps the perfect shopping day get-up. It's comfy and easy to get in and out of if you're trying on a ton of clothes.
Emily Cucherman, 18, a student at University of Southern Mississippi.
Flower Power: A chiffon floral peasant top with tiny colorful buds.
Her style: "Boho chic"
What I like: Emily is a study in effortless style. It doesn't look planned, yet she's completely put together with matching leather sandals and bag.

Katie Sanders foolishly spurned pretty dresses and shoes as a child, tossing new clothes over her shoulder at birthday parties with a totally rude "no, thank you." Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry. From camo pants and construction boots to sundresses, sweaters and sling backs, Keyonna Summers knows how to make all of it rock -- at rock bottom prices. A Detroit native, Keyonna delves into her urban roots to find fashion pairings that give a nod to street fashion while maintaining the class of the modern, professional woman.
