Sweep skirts: Fug or Fab?
We should have seen it coming. Maxi dresses ruled the Summer 2009 and it looks like the floor sweeping look is back -- just without the top part.
The Maxi-skirt is popping up all over the place, especially at Old Navy, where they're on sale for $19.99.
I'm getting prairie girl does Woodstock from this look. But the Florida girl in me doesn't want to fight it. As the temps creep up I'm all about ease and breeze. I am determined not to wear fabrics this summer that itch, confine and make me angry.
The problem with this look is taking it from the farmer's market to the office. With that I've attempted to find a couple maxi-skirt looks that might work for different occasions. Tell me if you agree....
Office Maxi - this plaid number by Chelsea & Theodore Dobby makes it a little more pulled together. With a white tank and cardigan I'd wear this to work in a comfy heart beat.
Date Night Maxi - Something tells me my husband wouldn't shun me if I came out of the house with thison for our date night. It's pink, flirty and with the right top could be down right sexy... am I pushing it?
Girls Day Out Maxi - I like this long skirt because it looks easy to slip in and out of in the dressing room. Also it's spandex which means I can have dessert with my lunch! Oh, it also doubles as a dress.
