Think pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month
We Divas are suckers for anything pink, and we can't resist a good cause. Throughout October -- Breast Cancer Awareness Month -- retailers are combining both, hocking rosy-themed merchandise and beauty services to benefit the cure.
Some of these items are on the pricey side, but proceeds benefit a great cause. So if your heart -- and your bank account balance -- are in the right place, scope out these rose-colored items for the cure.
PRETTY PURSE University of Florida grad Marilyn Minter has a designed a cool tote bag, left, also benefiting Bright Pink. The multicolored bag goes with nearly everything and sells for $48.
DISCOUNTED PAMPERING The beauty site PrettyCity.com is once again offering its annual Pretty in Pink, 31 days of $31 beauty treatments. Services include exfoliation, make-up application, manicures, haircuts and more. For a list of offerings and participating salons, click here. Proceeds benefit Bright Pink, a breast and ovarian cancer nonprofit.
STAR-STUDDED DENIM Through Coldwater Creek's Blue Jeans in Pink sweepstakes, you can enter to win a pair of celebrity-customized jeans. More than a dozen stars including Faith Hill, Gabrielle Union and Debra Messing have embellished a pair of Coldwater Creek jeans with pink decorations. The sweepstakes is free to enter.
DRESSED TO CURE The online Breast Cancer Site Store is selling an organic cotton wrap dress, which also comes in green, for half price. It's now only $24. Sizes S-XL. Your purchase helps provide free mammograms to women in need.
CHARMING ACCESSORY Then there's always Coach's pink ribbon keyring charm, right. It costs $58, benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
MUFFIN TOP MANAGERS The shapewear company Yummie Tummie, which we told you about a few months ago, will donate half of proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation when you buy a Pink Ribbon Tank ($62) or a Pink Ribbon Strappy Tank ($72).
GO PINK, SAVE SOME GREEN As if you needed another reason to head to Prime Outlets at Ellenton, the shopping mecca is offering an Operation Pink Bonus Card. Buy the $2 card at Guest Services, and all this month you'll get an additional savings of up to 25 percent at dozens of stores including Coach, J. Crew, Polo Ralph Lauren. Proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
This is only a small sampling of the pink items on the shelves this month. Divas, what are your favorite breast cancer awareness products?

Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry.
