Tiffany's debuts new bags
When it comes to shopping, there are two exceptions to my rule that spending less is more: Handbags and jewelery.
So my inner snob turned a cartwheel at the news that Tiffany & Co. is launching this fall a line of designer handbags. The pieces are everything you would expect: Classic, stunning, impeccably tasteful.
And insanely expensive.
The $17,500 Manhattan satchel would set me back more than my next car. The Morgan clutch, left, in Tiffany blue is scrumptious, but for $2,500, I would prefer to visit Rome. The women's collection starts at $395 for a small reversible tote -- a mere four times higher than anything I've ever paid for a handbag.
But Tiffany's appeal is as much about the looking as the shopping. And this eye candy is as good as it gets.
