Touring the bright Prabal Gurung collection for Target

It's time for our periodic State of the Target address. Today's topic: the springy collection designed for the retailer by Prabal Gurung.
My fellow Divas, I am smitten.
There is plenty to like, including color-blocked button-downs and dresses, paint-splattered handbags and matching sweaters, and sexy ankle-strap heels in black and colorful hues.
"This collection was inspired by love and if Target’s guests can feel even a little bit of the love that I felt while I was designing this collection, then I will consider it a job well done," Gurung said in a statement
Aww.
The prices range from $19.99 to $199.99 for apparel and $12.99 to $39.99 for jewelry, purses and shoes. You can browse different outfits for yourself here.
Let's take a tour!

Blouse, $35; crystal teardrop pendant necklace, $19; apple red heels, $39.

Dress, $45 (zips in back); black heels, $39.

Tote, $39. It's completely bonkers -- and I need it right now. Spice up your life!

Apple red ruffle dress, $39, not sold in stores.
Fun, fun, fun multi-color, pointy-toe heel, $39. See matching shirt and pointy-toe flats.

Two-tone cardigan, $33. This is adorably useless in Florida in February, I know.

Say it with me, and then give thanks: fashionable sweatshirt, $29.

'Sulphur Spring' pointy-toe patent heels, $39. Also available in basic black. There's a ruffle dress in this color, too.

Floral bib necklace, $39. You could easily springify a basic blouse or dress with this attention-getter.

It couldn't all be wearable, could it? These shorts -- more like a crotchal kaleidoscope -- are $26.
The pieces are available through March 23 (or when everything is snatched up). I can report the Target on Martin Luther King St. N in St. Pete seemed pretty well-stocked today. Somehow I walked away with just a bicycle helmet and lights. We'll meet again, Gurung.

Katie Sanders foolishly spurned pretty dresses and shoes as a child, tossing new clothes over her shoulder at birthday parties with a totally rude "no, thank you." Her drab days of monocolor outfits are over now, and she certainly knows better than to turn down free stuff. Her wardrobe mixes classic with quirk. Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
A disciple of the little black dress classics school, Letitia Stein stretches her budget by looking for styles with staying power. She lives for 80 percent off shoes at DSW, floral sundresses and bohemian chic tops. She confesses to being a bit of a snob when it comes to handbags and jewelry. She can be reached at (813) 226-3400 or
From camo pants and construction boots to sundresses, sweaters and sling backs, Keyonna Summers knows how to make all of it rock -- at rock bottom prices. A Detroit native, Keyonna delves into her urban roots to find fashion pairings that give a nod to street fashion while maintaining the class of the modern, professional woman. She believes in searching for affordable clothes that look expensive and can easily be dressed up or down. You won't find plaid shirts or fleece jackets in her closet; the only hiking Keyonna does is to the bargain basement. She can be reached at (727) 445-4153 or
