Vintage bridal exhibit kicks off Saturday in Dunedin
It's often said in fashion that what's old becomes new again.
Put that saying to the test this weekend as Andrews Memorial Chapel in Dunedin kicks off a vintage bridal show, featuring gowns and wedding artifacts from the 1800s to the 1960s.
The exhibit is open every day July 14-25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is free to the public.
Among the featured items, says former chapel wedding coordinator Linda Sanders, are wedding photos of the women who originally wore some of the gowns. There are veils and other accessories. The show also includes items from a couple who donated the dress and 1952 military uniform they were married in.
All of the pieces were donated locally.
You can't take anything home, Sanders said. But you can get a sense of how of wedding tastes have changed over the years, as well as learn more about the 124-year-old events facility.
The chapel is located at 1899 San Mateo Dr., at the entrance to Hammock Park. For more information, call (727) 271-9673.
