We test some Matthew Williamson for Macy's
It has been a totally decent spring on the affordable fashion front.
Thursday, we found out that H&M could be coming to International Plaza (FINALLY). In March, we were graced with UK Style by French Connection at Sears and the Go International Designer Collective at Target. Now, we have exciting news at Macy's.
The Matthew Williamson designer capsule launches April 13. Williamson is a highfalutin British designer and it-boy who has outfitted Sienna Miller, Katy Perry, Blake Lively, Mila Kunis and Thandie Newton to name a handful. His designs are structural and bohemian and colorful, great for this warmer weather.
It's the second designer capsule Macy's has carried since Kinder Aggugini in February. Dresses, tops, scarves, pants and shorts at prices between $50 to $120 will be available for a few months at 225 stores in the country, and online.
Macy's sent over a Matthew Williamson scarf for us to see before the line launches. Chiggity-check it out at right. I wore it Thursday, and it cheered me up all day. It's bright and bold, a cross between an animal print and a floral with shades of blue, purple and pink. It's big, like my beloved airport scanket, but lightweight enough to wear all summer. It's polyester, but at least it has good craftsmanship, evidenced by the reinforced decorative edge stitching. I'm stoked to check out the rest of the collection in person next week, but in the mean time, here are some previews from Macy's.
Blouse, $59, and shorts, $59. The top is covetable. The shorts might make me look like Mickey Mouse.

Maxi dress, $119. Pretty expensive, but you have to admit, this is friggin' glamorous. All she needs now is a pool boy and a mimosa.

Shiny dress, $99. Cute for prom, or the club, or rocking your Pulp Fiction finger dance against a pink wall.

Blouse, $59, pants, $69. These pants haunt my soul. I'm pretty sure these look good on no one. No, not really even this gorgeous, skinny model. Minus one.

Dress, $119. Williamson makes a staggering comeback with a lavender dress that's totally adorable! Well played, sir!

So, what do you think of the collection?

Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
