You had me at "80 percent off"
I'll be honest. As much as I know they offer great deals, I've kind of fallen off the Groupon-Living Social-etc bandwagon. I think it happened around the time I tried to score coolness points with the boyfriend by taking him on a kayaking dream date, only to realize my deal had expired. Or maybe it was around Pizza Gorge Fest 2011, when I wanted to use a coupon on a veggie slice but the fine print said I had to use the whole $50 in one sitting. Oof.
Yet I paused before deleting today's deal in my in-box -- promising designer fashion at 80 percent off at a group shopping site called Beyond the Rack. It seems like Gilt Group and the like, in that you have to scoop up the deals before they expire. The daily deal (full disclosure -- its from our web site, tampabay.com) gives you a code for free shipping.
So I thought, what the heck. It's Monday. Might as well delay any real work and start early on my holiday gift perusing. And when I say "gift" I might mean "clothes for me."
How cute is this little blue dress? Down to $59.99 from $95.00.
Or this evil eye wrap bracelet, down to $25 from $52.
Just about drooling over this leather lambskin Chloe bag. Only (drumroll) $999.99, down from $1,240!!
A girl can dream, can't she?

Think blazers with statement necklaces, and lots of patterned ballet flats. She can be reached at 850) 224-7263 or
Kameel Stanley has never encountered a thrift store she didn’t like. Her mother taught her that the true value of clothes isn’t how much they cost, but how many outfits one can create from them. Having grown up in Michigan, she was delighted to learn upon moving to Florida that she almost never needed to wear socks or boots again. There’s a lot of turnover in her closet, and she’s obsessed with dresses, necklaces and wedge heels. She can be reached at (727) 893-8643 or
