Cute umbrellas for rainy days and Mondays
Happy Monday! That grey, windy sky looks pretty miserable, doesn't it? Takes me back to my elementary school days on safety patrol, when we 9 and 10-year-olds deemed responsible enough would stand at the corners near the school and do our best to make sure none of our peers ran into the street when they shouldn't and also didn't walk on the grass.
We had these orange belt things that went around our waists and across our chests. On rainy days we had to wear them over these ridiculous yellow plastic ponchos with hoods that made us look like ducks. Paired with my most practical rain boots and a cheap umbrella, it was an interesting look.
But those elementary school days are long gone, and so are the function-over-fashion rain accessories. It might be miserable out, but my umbrella shouldn't be. My current small, compact black-and-white polka dot one is nice, but falling apart a little, so I'm looking for an upgrade. I'm digging some clear plastic ones from Modcloth and Urban Outfitters, and some cute patterned ones from Target and Overstock.com. Check them out in the slideshow and then go out and jump in some puddles. Your 9-year-old self will thank you.
