For May the Fourth, four Star Wars-inspired looks you can actually wear
As it does every year, the Internet is losing its mind making Star Wars puns about today's date, May Fourth. As in, May the Fourth be with you. Of course, our minds went straight to fashion.
Huh? Clothing inspiration from the franchise that created Chewbacca? Listen up, Padawan. The Star Wars universe has a rich aesthetic, with specifically drawn color palettes and styles for most of its main characters. Leia? White. Vader? Black. And so on. With that in mind, we're suggesting four looks that pay homage to Star Wars without resembling an actual galactic emperor. Or worse, a Wookiee.
Ditch the full-body robes Leia wears when she's not rocking that gold bikini and instead opt for a fit-and-flare white dress like this one. Pair it with white heels, and finish the outfit off with a swipe of rep lipstick and your hair in two side buns. (Tip: Use bobby pins to keep them in place, which will keep things messy and not too severe.) Now you're ready to act like you hate Han Solo even though you really love him.

Speaking of Han + Leia, Deal Diva Stephanie pointed out these gems as her fave Star Wars clothing item. They're called "I Know," a reference anyone quoting "May the Fourth be with you" today should be familiar with:

Ah, everyone's favorite British-accented droid. We're using him for the pop of gold he provides in every scene he's in. It's the perfect excuse to wear this long-sleeved Rachel Roy number (um, sorry, Beyhive) from Macy's. Pair with chunky black sandals.

Think black. And leather. And capes. To channel the Sith Lord, try rocking a glam-goth look with a leather (or, let's be real, faux leather) skirt, black shirt and black boots. (Here's some boot inspiration.) We love this asymmetrical wonder from ASOS, appropriately named "Supertrash." (Also this and this.)

Better yet, work a fashionable cape into your outfit. If you're not into the obviousness of the one in the slideshow above (it does literally have a Darth Vader head bedazzled onto it), try this one.

The star of the most recent Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, didn't have much need for a fashion sense on her desolate desert planet of Jakku, but we still dig her Earth tones and pants/tunic combo. To channel your inner heroine, try a tan or beige romper. Opt for either a long-sleeved/shorts or sleeveless/long pants combo, and pair with gladiator sandals and Rey's signature hair-do: three buns. (Just like the actor, Daisy Ridley, did for the Oscars.)
