Get costume jewelry for $1 this weekend

If you're into one-of-a-kind statement pieces, this sounds like a can't-miss event.

The Iron Pelican, an antiques and home decor store at 2454 Central Ave., is offering up its entire collection of costume jewelry this weekend for just one buck apiece.

$1 for a necklace, you guys. Like in the days of yore!

Usually, the folks at Iron Pelican only display about 10-20 percent of their jewelry stock, the store's Facebook page tells me. This Saturday and Sunday, everything will be out in the open.

If you're not into jewelry, well, I'm not sure what you're doing here. But you should really head that way soon and check out the store's covetable collection of rehabbed furniture. Speaking from experience, you can make a delightful afternoon of hopping around various stores along Central Avenue, including another favorite of mine, Paper Street Market.

See you there? If so, don't try to take anything I have my eye on (winky-face...but seriously).
