Get 'trashy' this weekend at ARTpool
Remember in high school, when there was always at least one girl who fancied herself a "designer" and wanted to wow her peers with a homemade duct tape homecoming dress?
Yea, I always admired that chick.
Not because of the guts it took to WEAR something like that -- (because, trust me, if it's cute, I'd rock it too) -- but because of the obvious work it took to MAKE the dang thing.
Even in my most creative moments, I don't think I've ever had the patience to weave strips of electrical tape into a skirt, or painstakenly press toilet paper into a pattern.
Now I live in a city that's full of these types, though, And this weekend, they're all converging at St. Pete's ARTpool Gallery, which is hosting it's 6th annual Trashion Fashion Show.
Perfect for those of you who like art, fashion, crafts, or just plain ol' recycling. And let us not forget the fun in people watching and exclaiming over and over, "She made WHAT? Out of WHAT?"
The show is from 8-midnight Saturday. Tickets bought before Saturday are $20 and then $25 on the day of the event. VIP seating is $45. If you go, take lots of pics and send them to us.
It'll be like homecoming all over again.
