Do you need some new shorts? New shoes? Tank tops? Honestly, neither do I.
You never know what's waiting out there for you at a good sale, right? Honestly, if I wasn't working tomorrow, the first place I'd be was over at Wesfield mall in Brandon, trying to get some face time with our Fairy Stylemother, Stacy London (!!!!!). I know you read Deal Diva Stephanie's awesome story, right?
But after that, you might want to check out Express, who tells me they are having a BOGO 50% off sale on shorts, tees and tanks.
In addition, the store also is having one of its semi-annual clearance sales. Highly recommended. (The graphic tee to your left is priced at $29.90)
Plus, they have a sale on some of their flip flops (but for the love of God, DON'T wear them when you go see Mama London.)
Kohl's also is having some sales this weekend - although they appear to be mostly online (for those of who can only fit in a little couch-shopping).
There are too many specifics to mention here, so your best bet is probably to head over to Kohls.com for details, but a quick glance shows the sales range from 40 percent off some swimwear to up to 60 percent off shoes. …Full Story
You guys, IT HAPPENED.
You know we've been BFFs with Clinton Kelly for a while (remember when we met him?), but his partner (and our spiritual leader) Stacy London was always harder to pin down. Well, we finally got to interview Stacy! She was only able to squeeze in an e-mail chat, but it was still very exciting. I have been watching her for YEARS now on What Not To Wear, all the way back to when she worked with Wayne Scot Lukas. Remember that? Stacy is a style legend in our universe.
She's coming to the area Saturday for the Westfield Brandon Style Tour. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., London will meet the first 250 shoppers who present receipts totaling $100 or more in Westfield Brandon merchandise purchased between March 17 and 31. Present your receipts in the morning to reserve a first-come, first-serve spot. Makeovers from stylists and Sephora makeup artists continue Sunday at the mall, 459 Brandon Town Center in Brandon.
Read the whole interview here! If you're wearing flip-flops, now's a good time to change.

I've got sunglasses on the brain this morning, y'all. But what I REALLY need to do is get some in my purse.
See, I am totally that girl who can't hang on to sunglasses. I can't help it. No matter how hard I try, they always seem to end up a mangled mess at the bottom of my purse.
It drives my boyfriend up the wall. (He is totally one of those guys who will spend a big chunk of money on really nice sunglasses and keep them in pristine condition forever.)
But that's just not me.
Luckily, we live in Florida, so there's gobs of places that sell cheap (and chic) sunglasses. (Ross, anyone?)
But last night, after discovering what I'm pretty sure was my fifth pair of sunglasses this year crushed at the bottom of my bag, my boyfriend blurted out to me, "Why don't you just get a case?"
Maybe he has a point. DUH.
What do you guys think of these?
I'm calling this "the peacock." $18 on Etsy
I don't know if I'm quite sold on the dots, but I really like the design. $22, on Etsy
I like the flower detail on this. And it's a hard case, so it'd probably be able to withstand any beatings. Only $3.95 on Amazon.com!
Well, it's almost the weekend. Let's get you in the spirit, shall we?

I love makeup. Love, love, love. To me, it's like a mini painting project every morning with different combinations of colors, shading, shadows, shine. I spent a lot of nights in high school experimenting with makeup in front of my bedroom mirror, obnoxious showtunes blaring in the background. I found makeup to be another form of expression, just like getting dressed. I get giddy at makeup counters and drug store aisles. My product collection runneth over. It's great!
Yeah. Sometimes. Man. You just CAN'T. And you start to think... well... should I? Why? What's it all for? What's wrong with my face, anyway?
Two North Carolina women have given serious bare faces a whirl. According to USA Today, Molly Barker and Caitlin Boyle have not polished, buffed, waxed, groomed or pruned anything for two months. They're living like guys, basically. The results? Read here to find out.
They're encouraging everyone to join in, even if only for a day. I'm not sure I'm on board yet, but what about you? Would you do something like this?

Are you a high school senior? Are you a washed up local cover band? Did you star in the new remake of 21 Jump Street?
If you answered yes to any of the above, you can skip this post. (If you answered yes to the third question, can you please introduce me to Channing Tatum? Thanks.)
If you answered no, it's safe to assume you won't be going to prom this year. But that doesn't mean your dress has to stay home, too.
Fresh Threads, one of our favorite Tampa consignment shops, is holding a prom dress drive for local high school girls in need. So far, they've already given several away to some super stylish, and grateful, chicks. They're also collecting shoes and accessories.
Drop the dresses off before April 7 at the store, 4230 S. MacDill Avenue, Suite F, anytime Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., or Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
For another option, donate or shop for dresses with the Belle of the Ball Project at Seminole Mall, 11201 Park Blvd. N. in Seminole every Saturday through May 12. …Full Story
I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE magazines - especially the fashion ones.
But I think most of us can agree that there's always something a little ... disingenuous about the imagery.
Specifically, when the photos of the women (and it's almost always the women, right?) gracing the cover are digitally altered so much that they bear no actual resemblance to the real person.
Here's a welcome sight though: In it's latest issue, Intelligent Life magazine features a cover story about the lovely Cate Blanchett. And they didn't photoshop her.
About time, right?
The 42-year-old actress looks beautiful, and real. I only wish some of the more mainstream beauty/fashion/lifestyle magazines would take the same approach more often.
What do you guys think?

This morning I woke up in a post-Mad Men haze. "Pencil skirt," I groaned... right before, "coffee."
I settled on this zebra print number that I got on sale from Loft a few months ago. To keep it from getting too Joan-ey (not that I don't love her), I paired it with a soft gray tee and lacy black sweater from Forever 21. Black slingbacks dress it up a bit-- my go-to staples from Nine West.
Topping it off is one of my favorite statement necklaces, bought for $20 at a boutique in Charlotte, N.C., last year. A girl's gotta have a pop of color.

The memory is so clear. I was about 8 years old and had decided to be very fashion-forward and cut my hair into the shape of a bowl. Imagine a bowl made out of blond hair flipped upside down, and you'd have me.
One day, I went bowling with my cousins and stepped up to the counter to ask for shoes. I told the clerk my size, and she turned around and handed me the biggest pair of bowling shoes my young eyes had ever seen.
"I said size three," I told her.
"Yeah," she said. "Size three boys."
I'd like to tell you I had an empowering moment of clarity about the power of gender roles in our society, but I really just felt like crap.
"I'm a girl," I said. She looked horrified and gave me the right shoes.
In that same bowling alley, a music video played on the televisions. It was Wilson Phillips. Chynna Phillips, clad in the most stylish high-waisted denim and brown leather vest, sitting atop a mountain, then preening in a black dress on the sandy shore, blond hair in the shape of an upside-down bowl. "I know that there is pain," she said, "but you hold on for one more day."
For those of you who may not make it to downtown St. Pete this weekend for the swanky Indy Lounge at Jannus Live fashion event (in honor of the Grand Prix, and all), here's an alternative.
Head to Sarasota and buy some shoes!
Shoe Carnival is hosting a grand opening Saturday for its newest store, at the Shoppes at University Center (8473 Cooper Creek Blvd), and has a bunch of goodies and giveaways planned.
Oh man, the fabulous people are starting to come together again.
Tampa Bay Fashion Week doesn't roll around until September, but we're going to get a little taste of style from our local power players this weekend. In honor of the Honda Grand Prix, Jannus Live in downtown St. Petersburg will transform Saturday into the Indy Lounge at Jannus Live, with outdoor furniture and fancy lighting. The evening will include dinner followed by a fashion show hosted by stylist Laura Hunt, who the Deal Divas featured in our Five with Style lineup a couple years back. Laura has since moved to Los Angeles, so it's a treat to have her back in town.
The fashion show will feature local style staples Rhonda Shear, Kimberly Hendrix, Bella Moda and Essence Flowers (who word has it is unveiling a line of Indy-inspired swimwear).
Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. and the fashion show at 9 p.m. Tickets are $50 and up, available at Ticketmaster.

Time is whipping by. This morning, I got a press release that the Industrial Arts Center in St. Petersburg is once again making glass Peeps. That's right, Peeps, those deliciously gooey marshmallow sins. That means it's almost Easter already! Jumpin jelly beans. Wasn't it just New Year's?
It also explains why I've been reading so much buzz for pastels lately. They're one of the biggest trends this season, especially as we're all gearing up to eat chocolate bunnies and ham and deviled eggs on the beach, and whatever else people do in the spring.
Pastels are beautiful, but can be a little bit twee if you don't take care. They're best when anchored with a neutral that has some heft, like black or brown or navy blue. And be wary of your skin tone. Folks like me with little to no skin pigment don't pull off peach very well. Ice blue and green? Much better. If you are blessed with deep skin, pastels are your best friend.
Here are some cool pastel options we spotted.

Remember how I said all the girls in South Korea -- ALL THE GIRLS -- were wearing shorts and black tights? Even at the summer, on the beach, or in the winter, in extreme cold temperatures? Maybe it was subliminally implanted into my visual cortex, but I had to try it this weekend.
Here I am at the Ybor City St. Patrick's Day parade Saturday. I was super excited to score that massive strand of beads. This was moments before I got CLOCKED in one side the face with a set of beads, then CLOCKED in the other side of the face with yet another. I was seconds from breaking into a massive Ugly Cry, but I decided to make a sharp left and laugh instead. Fortunately, there is no bruising.
Anyway. The black shorts and green top are from Old Navy. It's all a little hard to see in this pic, what with my stockpile of cheapo beads, so check them out at the links. The tights are a floral pattern I've had forever, paired with Steve Madden shooties. I wore these out for dinner with beleaguered shootie fan Deal Diva Emily the other night, who promptly launched into a rage when she saw them. "YOU'RE WEARING SHOOTIES!" she said. "NO ONE EVER CALLED YOU ANY NAMES." Well, feel free, folks. For Emily's sake. …Full Story
UGGGGGGH, SHE'S SO GREAT. IT'S AWFUL.
Here is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, a.k.a. Kate Middleton, a.k.a., Prince William's dime piece, playing hockey with the GB hockey teams at the Riverside Arena in London's Olympic Park Thursday. Naturally, the world is in a frenzy over her splashy tangerine ankle jeans. Kate's are reportedly J Brand, $169. Yikes.
Want them now? Here's a Deal Diva-friendly version from Old Navy in "sashimi," $34.94.
Ok, back to brooding and wishing I was taller. See ya.
